Beyond the Mountain - The Way of Phi in Practice -

Dear friend,
In many ways
I am like a seven-year-old
Joyful whenever I grow
And eagerly looking at what's next
And the fairytales are still telling me
That if I work really hard
And follow my dreams
I will meet my true love
And then
We will live
Happily
Ever after
But what is this
Happily ever after
After all?
I wonder what lies beyond
The fairytale of success
And I wonder who's telling
The story
Because I remember a time
When life was not about chasing
Before losing myself
In a world of musts and needs
When being happy was the most
Natural thing in the world
Recently, I spoke
With the wise Daniel Wilby
"What is maturity?" he asked
"Emotional mastery", I answered
He said "Giving back"
When all is said and done
And the struggle is gone
When the mountain has been climbed
And the contract has been signed
When I have made my exit
And no longer need to perform
When the applause has ended
And I am no longer relevant
When that happily ever after
Is supposed to begin
What then?
– If someone comes to mind who has climbed their mountain
and ponders what comes next, feel free to share this with them.
Still here,
Christopher
