Armed with a Feather
I Embark on my Crusade
Dear friend,
There is one problem in the world that overshadows all others.
Indeed, it's more devious and dangerous than all of them combined.
More deadly than starvation or warfare, because it causes these things.
More evil than human trafficking or deliberately keeping poor people subjugated, because those are symptoms of this.
Even more lethal than biodiversity loss and destruction of nature, because this is the root cause that brings about all of this.
The problem that I am referring to is polarisation.
The Ubiquity of Polarisation
"Divide and conquer".
You've probably heard it.
A classic way to control.
When something is divided, and pitched against itself, it's locked into internal struggles.
Our society is increasingly polarised.
On a daily basis new symptoms of this show up, near and far.
In my personal sphere I see it – just a few hours it cropped up very close to home – and in the world arena it's there, plain for all to see.
Some examples:
The war in Ukraine.
The atrocities in Gaza.
The destruction of natural habitats for countless species, including humans.
The political divisions in the US, the EU, the UK and seemingly more and more places.
Extraction of more and more minerals and other "natural resources" that we somehow take for granted that we can exploit freely.
These are all different instances and symptoms of polarisation.
Symptoms of a world that is out of balance.
Because we are out of balance, as individuals.
And by constantly reinforcing a fundamentally flawed narrative we perpetuate the disharmony on all levels.
The narrative is all about celebrating the Linear paradigm at all costs, disregarding the natural Circular rhythms of life.
Then there are all the counter-movements who take the "opposite" position.
That again, right there, is a polarisation.
Us versus them.
The good and the bad.
History Reinforces Itself
Our society is more polarised than I have ever know it to be.
When I grew up we had the Cold War with the USA and the Soviet Union constantly on the cusp of nuclear war, instilling a constant sense of low intensity terror in a lot of people, myself included.
And the culprit was always the Russians. In movie after movie, the USA and the CIA were the "good guys", defending what's good in the world, whereas those "Ruskis" were evil nihilistic atheists only out to... do what exactly? That was never clear, because it was all a sham. Not because the Russians were the good guys and the Yankees were bad. No, because the whole setup of us versus them is a sham – you see, polarisation again.
Then the Soviet Union and the Eastern block ended and one was thinking that things would be great.
Alas no, instead of a golden age of peace and prosperity, more wars ensued, one after the other.
And then, there was the World Trade Center orchestration, and that was the impetus to introduce the 'War on Terrorism'. A war which could go on forever, which unfortunately seems to be the idea.
Who Benefits from Polarisation?
The weapon manufacturers do, that's one thing for certain.
The Chinese owned company in Eskilstuna, Sweden, who have recently been granted permission to use a highly poisonous chemical (methylene chloride) to produce batteries for electric vehicles and then discharge tons of poison into the environment. Well, they do to because this is not in harmony with nature and the only way such an investment – in the name of "green transition" is considered acceptable is because we are polarised out of our minds. I mean, who in their right minds would approve or even come up with such an idea?
The companies manufacturing fast fashion in countries with low cost labour certainly do. That whole business is built on exploiting people in poorer countries, over-producing clothes which to large extent won't even be worn. That's clearly not in harmony with anything, but is solely for the purpose of "maximising profits" in some perverted and isolated perspective on things. Clearly not taking the whole of anything into account.
However, there is one force that benefits even more and that is the archetype of the Divider, also known as the the Devil. As we can see in the image below, the Devil enslaves us in polarities (symbolised by a man and a woman), i.e. polarisation.

To understand the Devil or the Divider it is helpful to think of "him" as an archetype rather than as a flesh and bone kind of entity.
Thus it is more like an influence that various individuals allow to take over more or less.
Supposedly the Devil ensnares people by tempting them fame, fortune and glory in exchange for their souls.
For my part, I am challenging the Devil.
Embarking on my holy war.
Subjugating the Divider with a feather.
The Ancient Egyptians believed that in the afterlife the heart was examined by Anubis who weighed it and compared it to the feather of Maat, see the image below. If the heart weighed more than the feather (i.e. if it had any sin weighing it down) it would immediately be devoured by Ammit, who is seen expectantly waiting to the right. If that happened the soul was forever restless. The message is clear: behave or face the consequences of eternal torment. Does that sound familiar?

Such can be the power of a feather.
Seemingly light, perhaps even inconspicuous, but at the end of the day (or the life) it have significant impact.
I've actually written a song about that, which contains the lines
It is lighter than a feather
Yet it's everywhere
Again, like the air, that we breathe.
A Holy War
My holy war begins right now.
I made a live video on my YouTube channel about this earlier today.
This crusade is about taking a stand for harmony.
Indeed, it's about Inspiration, Harmony and Play.
As I mention in the video, this is about moving from two to three.
From polarisation into creativity.
Taking a stand for things that are important:
Inner peace
Peach with others
Fierce love
Saying 'no' if that's what it takes
Saying 'yes' if that's what it takes
A commitment to truth
A commitment to decency
Compassion with self and others
Not taking other people's shit
Psychological Anchoring
In Jungian terms (from the psychologist Carl Jung) we need to differentiate between complexes and archetypes.
Complexes reside in the personal subconscious and are our personal responsibility to come to terms with. Whenever we are blaming someone else because we are feeling bad, in whatever shape or form, it is akin to shouting at our mirror image.
Archetypes reside in the collective subconscious and here we have a personal responsibility to engage in the bigger story. However, it is only to the extent that we have cleared our personal subconscious (our complexes) that we can really be part of the bigger play.
Are You Ready for the Truth?
If you are interested to see the truth of who you are, I offer a six month intensive program as your Personal Philosopher. And I currently have the capacity to welcome a few more clients.
This program is not promising that you will make more money, although that might happen as a byproduct, if that is meant to be.
Indeed, this program is not even about feeling good. That will probably happen further down the road, but first you will most likely get really upset. As the saying goes "The truth will set you free, but first it's going to piss you off".
This is about seeing the truth of who you are.
Not for the fainthearted, but for the brave.
If that is for you, click here to schedule an exploration call.
With gratitude,
Christopher
