Half-Year Reflections - The Way of Phi in Practice -

Looking back at the last six months of walking The Way of Phi
Looking back at the last six months of walking The Way of Phi

Dear  friend,

On this last day of the first half of 2025, I will share some reflections about the year so far, both from my personal journey and for the human collective.

The Philosophical World Tour

Starting with me, I've been doing what I set out to do – and also adjusting as needed.

January -- Book Release Event and US visa application

In January I had a book launch for The Way of Phi in Lund. A lovely crowd attended as I presented the book and my life journey, including music. I was also joined on stage by the eminent Daniel who offered his perspectives on the philosophy of Phi and then played a DJ set to support the ambiance during the mingle.

During January I also spent a considerable amount of energy applying for a visa to the USA which I eventually got.

February -- Embarking on the Philosophical World Tour

In February I started the newsletter The Way of Phi in Practice as I embarked on my philosophical world tour. The first destination was south France where I spent a month gallivanting around the French Riviera, Monaco and a foray into Italy.

While there, I met a lot of friendliness and hospitality as I was couchsurfing and hitchhiking.

I also met a lot of interesting people, including the mayor of Cannes, Davide, who told me that he's interested in philosophy, so I later sent him a copy of my book.

While in France I also had the great pleasure of spending five days with my daughters who came to visit me for their winter holiday.

March -- Back to Sweden & Concert in Stockholm

Come March, I went back to Sweden and then to Stockholm, again with my daughters, for a concert with one of their favourite bands kent.

Being back in Sweden, after a month abroad, felt fresh and invigorating, and I felt a new spring in my step that I hadn't felt in a long time while in my native country.

April -- Mindfully Changing Plans

On April 1st, I hosted a beautifully received workshop on Mindfulness through Singing at Malmö University.

Later in April I was supposed to go to New York – I even had a ticket booked. However, for various reasons, I decided to postpone this, most importantly to be able to attend my youngest daughter's class giving Romeo and Juliet.

At the end of the month I hitchhiked to west Denmark to visit my good friend Marianne.

May -- Reconnecting with what Matters Most

The ten first days of May I spent in Denmark, learning a lot about relations and grounding. I was on the verge of travelling further south to Hamburg and onwards, but at the last moment, I decided that I'd rather be close to my children.

Instead of looking for connections and relations in other places, this is where I am supposed to be based.

I still wish to travel to different countries and parts of the world, for my philosophical world tour, but for shorter periods of time, maximum two weeks at a time.

Coming back to Sweden I found myself a room to rent, which is close to where my children live.

June -- Trials and Triumphs

June has been a quite challenging month, physically and emotionally. Partly because my grass allergy kicked in (as usual I assumed that it wouldn't come back this year, and then it did – perhaps next year it won't though). Partly because there have been some deep processes going on.

I have had three sessions with a wonderfully supportive craniosacral therapist and I also had a great session with my shaman friend Mikael.

The same Mikael I have been guiding for a period of six weeks, after which he had some massive breakthroughs including a 10x increase in revenue.

Moving from the personal to the global, let's take a brief look at something that the current media narrative is focusing on a lot:

The World Is on Fire

Meanwhile, the world is both the same as ever and more and more strange. What with the war in Ukraine, the genocide in Gaza and now the war in Iran. It seems that there is no end to all the armed conflicts and whenever one ends at least another one starts, often even more dangerous than the previous one.

Makes you wonder doesn't it – about a lot of things. Who gains from these endless wars, really?

From a philosophical perspective, it seems that the Armenian seeker Gurdjieff was correct in saying that the reason for there being wars in the world is that people are at war within themselves.

I also think that people who are partisan – typically regardless of which "side" they support – usually carry unresolved trauma which they project onto the perceived enemy, thereby tricking themselves to not have to face their inner pain.

So, whether you find yourself to be supporting Ukraine or Russia, Israel or Palestine or Iran or USA or whoever else, when there is conflict, and you think that "the other side" is 100% wrong, I invite you to consider that perhaps you are not really seeing things very clearly.

How many conflicts have you ever been privy to – or been part of – where you can truthfully say that it was all the fault of one party?

Can you see yourself somewhere or somehow in the conflicts that you are judging?

Bringing together both the personal and the global, let's tie this to the philosophy of The Way of Phi:

The Linear, the Circular and Dynamic Balance

The three main concept of the Way of Phi are the Linear (going from A to B, things that can be measured, masculine energy), the Circular (being here and now, things that cannot be measured, feminine energy), and Dynamic Balance (the interplay between the Linear and the Circular, play, creative energy).

Let's consider the things discussed above through the lens of these concepts:

Linear

* Explorations and travelling

* Wars

* Challenges

* Setting goals

* Reaching goals

* Not reaching goals

* Making money

Circular

* Relations on many levels

* Mindfulness and presence

* Reconnections

* Music

Dynamic Balance

* Being relaxed about goals and adjusting them as circumstances change

* Learning and reconsidering decisions

* Travelling, coming home, travelling, coming home – like waves

Summing It Up – What About You?

To sum things up, what has been one of your greatest challenges during the first half of 2025 and how did you approach it? What was the outcome? What is your present situation?

Do let me know. I read all responses and write back when I have the capacity to do so.

With gratitude,

Christopher
