Fields, Skies and Gratitude - The Way of Phi in Practice -

Dear friend,
Looking out over the wheat fields
And above them the clear blue sky
I am struck by the beautiful balance
As the wheat draws nourishment from both earth and sky,
So too do we: walking on the ground, breathing the air
Without either, we are lost
When we lose our grounding,
Forgetting whence we come or whither we go,
It is easy to feel forlorn
When we lose touch with our breath,
Failing to receive the breath that sustains us,
We struggle to accomplish much
Yet, how easy it is to take these things for granted,
To forget the simple gifts that hold us upright
As fields and sky conjoin,
they create the harvest that nourishes our lives
Gratitude is what keeps us connected
– To nature
– To each other
– To ourselves
With gratitude,
Christopher
