Dear friend,
Here at the threshold
Of what's emerging
I meet you
Early March
Between Imbolc and Ostara
Life starts returning
I find my sense of smell
Reminding
The fragrance
Ever new
Yet familiar
Nature showing me
Cycles
Something
Is Always
Happening
The flowers
Ever new
Yet familiar
Nature shows me
My cyclical nature
And yours
The sky paints
In slow colours
Shifting
Like the moon
Waxing and waning
Yet its shape remaining
Fortune coming and fortune going
Like a wheel
Turning
The flowers I'm seeing
Have never been
And never will be
Only now
And also
Returning
Yes, also I keep returning
Still alive
Another spring
And you
Are also here
Living
Gratitude
To still be around
After all these years
Perhaps a little wiser
Perhaps less burdened
Perhaps more ready to give
And so I turn to the night sky
And watch the stars
Shining
Maybe the most eternal things
Upon which these mortal eyes
Are looking
Yet even they
Will one day perish
And even they
Are part of something that is so much greater
Thus the dance goes on
Day by day – month by month – season by season
The stars spinning in the celestial dance
The flowers for another round in the ground
And in the middle of it all
We move
Still here,
Christopher
